Abby, there isn't any software for a Polaroid Swinger. Couldn't help myself, my apologies. Welcome aboard, You have just stumbled on an incredible site. There are many talented and experienced photographers here that are more than able and willing to answer any questions. Let us know what equipment you are using and we will be able to customize our advice to your particular needs. Looking forward to some of your animal shots. Maybe a hedgehog. Just remember to focus on the eyes. Haha. Best to you!

Welcome to the UHH. There is a wealth of info here and lots of fine people. For free software, go to the home page of this forum and click on the Post Processing Digital Images section. Then click on Free Processing Software. You will find many titles to pick from. In my opinion, one of the best selections has already been mentioned. That would be Faststone Image Viewer. It is a free very fine program and easy to learn. Have a GREAT DAY!

If you can afford $10/month...Adobe Creative Cloud for Photographers is an amazing package.

For free..........Gimp is incredibly powerful for the price!! Is IS difficult to learn though as someone else pointed out.

There are a number of other, more light weight, freebies around. Picasa seems to be very popular.

My recommendation would be to try the Adobe Lightroom free trial before you get too far along in Photography. Beware though....you may not be able to give it up.
Lightroom is part of the Creative Cloud for Photograhers package.

I use two editors myself. If you can spare just a few bucks I'd suggest buying a copy of Paintshop Pro on eBay. Every year they update this software and it gets a little more complicated. If you can find an old version from Jasc you shouldn't have to pay more than $10 for it and it will be easier to learn on than the newer versions from Corel.

If you insist on an editor that is completely free, try Raw Therapee. It may look intimidating at first but it really is easier to use than I recall Gimp being (and there's a pretty extensive user's manual). Then again it's been at least ten years since I looked at Gimp.

Bite the bullet and just buy lightroom. It is one of the best overall photo management and editing programs available to date.

Also.....it used to be that Raw Therapee could act as a Gimp plugin but I don't know if that still works.
