I did a quick set up to practice with my camera-Lens combination and my little dirty faced granddaughter starting making her own poses and this was one of them. I would like to know what is thought of the composition, lighting, focus and crop. Appreciate all comments.
That pose in my estimation is NOT a portrait. Other than that it is very good composition, lighting is a little too soft on her face, focus is very good as is the cropping...
No, I don't think it fits into the portrait category either. You have captured a very nice moment, however. My problem with the photo is that the light on her face is contrasty. I think it's really important to get those catchlights as well. It just makes a human being come alive in a photograph.
Other than that, the pose is really cute and she's got a great expression on her face. I feel as though she's a pretty easy going child with a pleasant personality.
Its as cute as hell for sure and an adorable little girl.
Its not a portrait though. A very nice well taken technically reasonably OK family photo I think
Nice candid but not a true portrait; you need to control the lighting, get some light into the face and some catch lights in the eyes. The background is distracting; getting closer and a wide aperture will help as well as a long lens.
Keep shooting!
