Well, today, I finally gave in and had signed up for a 1 year subscription for Adobe Photoshop CC. Now, I'm going to have to learn how to use it :-(

Can any of you give me any tips on where I can get the best tutorials to learn how to use it ? I am no master with Lightroom, but have been using it for awhile and I understand that Lightrooom and Photoshop are great for using together.

There's a new book out by Scott Kelby, titled Photoshop CC. It $35 FROM Amazon. It's an awesome book and easy to understand. Buy it.

Julian Kost at Adobe, Phlearn.com, people talk about Lynda.com and KelbyOne. Lightroom for me at least is easy enough to start picking up but I am struggling with Photoshop although am making some headway. Good luck. Also have you in my thoughts for upcoming challenge.

I presume you signed up for the "photography special" that includes both LR and PS. I think it's a good deal, so enjoy it.
As far as learning is concerned, start right at the source, Adobe. Julianne Kost has a blog that has a lot of good stuff in it at http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/
I've also checked into things like (from my bookmarks):
http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbKTQeM105I
http://laurashoe.com/lightroom-5-tutorials/
http://www.lightroomqueen.com/downloads/shortcuts/lightroom_shortcuts_5_win.pdf
https://creative.adobe.com/plans/offer/photoshop+lightroom
http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-evangelists-julieanne-kost/episode-5/
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/tutorials/photoshop.html

Note these cover both LR and PS. Hope you have lots of time available to look at them all (and the links you can find through them). They'll make a good winter project. You can always find more through Google. There are probably thousands of them out there.

I used to add my photos to LR and if they needed more I'd jump out of LR and go to PS, then re-import the result in LR. Then I learned you can do that all automatically from within LR and the results are grouped together. Made it much easier.

I've been using PS for 4-5 years now and I'm still learning things. You don't have to master it all at once. Have fun.

PS: If you run into a problem, ask here. Most likely someone will know how to advise you.

Start with the free ones on the Adobe website. Most are very good. If you want to go further you can subscribe to KelbyOne. More training than a human being could possibly absorb.

Take notes and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Takes patience and effort. But oh so well worth it.

Doug, what works for me is to examine an image that you'd like to enhance, then stat by looking for tutorials that specifically address that. There are general information tutorials on layer blending, creating and using a mask and quick mask, layer styles, smart objects, etc etc. You can look at those too. Tutorials for older versions of Photoshop are valid as well, since much of what is in PS today has been there for a while.

This guy is good - http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html

And as you go through tutorials, you will undoubtedly be drawn to other tips and techniques - Or you can do Kelby, Lynda and other paid subscriptions to tutorials.

Many thanks, Greymule, and may I say that the photo representing your avatar appears to have some type of layering in Photoshop giving a HDR effect. Nice !
