Hi Guys, thank for the opportunity to participate in this forum, it is a great learning tool for those of us that love this hobby, i follow this page daily and i found that i learned quite a bit since i joined the group. Thanks again but the way I bought my first SLR this past January, and i believe I had a long way to go before I could say that i know how to use it it is a Canon 70D that came with the kit 18-135, I also added a 55 -250 both of those are great, but here is my question i had an opportunity to get a new lens I both as a bargain this is a 75-300 f/4-5.6 III I Just realized that this piece is not made in Japan it is very light and when i look at the canon site seem that this lens was made earlier then the new one they are offering which has the IS and is STM, Well i only pay $90.00 for it so far I'm not to happy with it but do you guys think it was worth the money. Thank you again.

Welcome to official member status :)

I'm not familiar with the lens you mention, but if you are not happy with it, I wouldn't think it would be of much value, regardless of price.

I'm sorry I left that out both lenses are canon and they are IS and STM. My question was in reference to the quality of the lens a a also the distance I also notice the slow focusing while my other two lenses are quite fat at least for for me thank you again..

I'm not familiar with the lens you mentioned, but I can't believe you can get a good new lens these days for $90. If you can return it for a refund, I'd recommend it. Or sell it on Ebay, if anyone wants it, and buy a good lens. That's what I'd do.

Hi Guys, thank for the opportunity to participate ... (show quote)

It sounds as if you may have answered the question yourself. It's YOU who must be happy with the purchase, which then decides if it was a 'good deal' or not. I hope it works out well for you.
