Hope this doesn't fall under the category of really dumb questions. Perhaps someone who has dealt with Costco Photo online can help.
Based on several positive comments by members on the quality of Costco prints I thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered an 8x12 print on line uploaded from LR. Photo was not cropped or dimensionally altered in any way. What I received was a high quality image with excellent color rendition printed on 8x12 photo paper, but the image itself was 5.5 x 8. Am I missing something here? Obviously I need to talk to Costco, but is there something I might have done in error to get this result?
What was the size of your image emailed?

Interested to see the answer because I may start having Costco do more printing for me. The one time so far I did use them, the print was the correct size but I did not allow for a margin so the bottom was off by 1/4 inch. Your problem may be in your file specs., Style, Res., size, etc. and use of your PP software. Good luck.
not knowing more than is said in your statement, 2 things could have happened. the mega-pixels count of your camera could have been to small to render a large print or, somewhere in the order form you mistakenly click on the large border feature. I have used Walgreens photo and it took a couple of tries to fill out their form to get the prints that I imagined I had ordered in the first place. Walgreens was nice and didn't charge me for the missteps I made.

See what happens if you try to print that image from LR. Does it show a 8 x 12, or the smaller image? I'm sure Costco would have a good answer.
I work at costco as an optician. My good friend runs the photo lab. I will try to get an answer in a day or two

If your prints are of value and you want good work do not leave it to someone like Costco, go to a pro at Adorama, Meridien or someone that takes their business seriously. My .02 worth!
I've never had that happen, and have had hundreds of prints done at Costco through the website. I bet it was some kind of computer/printer error. And of course they will reprint for free. Can you post the shot here?

If my viewer is correct it indicates 2400x3600 pixels.

Is this a snap of what you received from them? Or did you send it in with the white border?

My printer doesn't offer that size as an option. That's one of the reasons I decided to try Costco. I hate to crop images and have never gotten into the happen of shooting wide to accommodate the possibility of different perspective prints.
Can't offer any help on what happened with the print size you received, windshoppe, but IMHO it's a good picture.

How and what are you using to do this. I thought you had to export something to upload. I would like to know how you do this from withing Lightroom?
