Opteka GH-1 Gimbal Question

I have the GH-1 Gimbal. In earlier posts MT suggested taking it apart and cleaning and lubricating the internal moving parts. I have been able to do this on the part that screws onto the tripod. However, the top part where the small compass is poses some issues. My question--how do you remove the compass and what comes apart so that I can clean and lube the top part. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

It's glued in, I used a small jewelers screwdriver and worked around it scraping away the glue until I could get under it and pry it out. If you go slow, you should be able to do it without breaking it - however, it's pretty much useless the way it's mounted so your call...

Once the compass is out, you have access to the knob retainer screw. Remove the knob and slide the assembly out the mount side.
