Jeepney drivers break

Taken a few klms from my home. The guy was actually very friendly with a warm smile like the majority of Filipinos. He does a great job of hiding it I think.

A jeepney is what the local buses are called. Anyone interested can see some I posted in the HDR forum.

I'm a fan billyspad. Wow! The clarity is excellent. Who says you can't take top shelf pics without top shelf equipment! Your subject's posture and expression is so natural .. so relaxed .. I feel like what I see is what I get.

And I love the background on this one! It is so great that you have this beat up jeep with what looks to be a posh Hotel reflecting in the window. You've got a story to tell. Great job!

Hi, Billy,
That's one top-notch environmental portrait.
exposure and focus nailed.
Tonal spectrum well used.
His expression, to me, seems about to break into a suppressed smile!
You caught a great moment.

Very nice Billy, I can't add anything more to all those complimentary things that have already been said.

Nothing I can add to improve this image. I love the lighting and your B & W treatment is beautiful.

I have been there and ridden in the jeepnies. I like this photo. My only thought was, the composition might have been improved had you included the windshield and some of the ground below. To me it is to centered.

Not sure how much street photography you have done my man but I can assure you if you want to catch the moment there is no time to consider if the windscreens in the frame or not.
I walk around with the camera turned on held low down in one hand. See something like this guy and do my best to take it before he has a chance to react or move or change his expression.
3 frames is the max your going to get before he notices.
Then I wave or smile and say thank you etc. With this guy I stayed and chatted for a few minutes others I walk on.

Not an excuse for poor composition etc just the way street photography works. Its not like tripod time and lets try a different iso etc. Its wham bam and hope you get a result. I took 200 photos on the day I got this. Net total of keepers was this and 3 images I will use for HDR. Thats about the way it normally works. 98% are deleted.

I appreciate your interest and input always

He is not homeless Joe but will no doubt live in conditions that you and I would find unacceptable. Makes you feel very privileged to have been born in the developed world.
Licence is a probable but not a guarantee. Folks tend not to get bogged down with detail here!!
Thanks for dropping by my man and your support

Beautiful image Billyspad, I can't offer suggestions but can tell you what I like about it. First; the composition, especially the pose and positioning of the subject. Second, the b/w treatment, whatever you are using is superb. Third, making metal look like metal is not the easiest thing to do in b/w, but this really looks like cold steel. If you can share part of your b/w workflow I know there are many here who would appreciate it.
