For better image quality and low light performance and faster shooting, D3300.

sit down, strap in, and hold on, this is asked by a new person 2 to 3 times a month,
you probably are asking in a general since!,
if you have a specific question about these 2 cameras you may get a reasonable close answer!!!
very few people know "BOTH" these units first hand {but, a few do} , I am one of the ones that do not know both units!
h$ll I am still learning 1 brand!!!
my suggestion is go to the store and put your hands on both, see how they fit your hands, and what feels comfortable!
buy that brand and learn it well!
good luck with your choice!!
:-D :-D
Buy all three, then decide.
Welcome to UHH. It's really your decision. These are good cameras. You might go to a store like Best Buy and handle each and see how you feel while holding them. My personal preference would be the Nikon D3300. Others might feel differently. Good luck.

This is the OP's very first posting and you chime in with a rude and not funny response. If you can't be helpful why say anything?

True, my remark was not helpful, but not intended to be rude. Great that you put me in my place.

You must go to a camera store and hold the various cameras to see how they feel. Try a few out. Research reviews online. Check to see what lenses you want might cost. If I were you, and if I could afford it, I would opt for the Nikon D5300. The camera is small, well built, takes great photos, and has everything I want. I gave my three year old D3300 to a new student at our photo school.

I didn't perceive your reply as being rude either. I've seen various folks buy multiple cameras or lenses for comparison and then return what they don't like, so apparently it's an accepted practice. Personally I don't do that as I feel it's unfair to the vendor to end up with "used" equipment.
