I sewed up the leg of an old pair of bluejeans, filled with beans (what else?) :)

A denim bag. I use buckwheat or rice.
One that I can empty for traveling by air. You can always by beans or rice after you land.

Safflower seeds work well.
I use Gura Gear have both the ANANSI & SABI models fill with Buckwheat and take them on the plane as my pillow, even if I don't use them as a pillow. This way do not have to purchase more fill, just got back from a 3 week trip to Brazil not a problem taking them on the planes.
My wife made mine out of a old pair on jeans filled with beans. I take a lot of wildlife shots from my truck, place the bag on the window and you have a stable platform for long lens.
Thanks Opus, Kobuk & Bultaco
i used mine in Africa exclusively. packed bag empty for trip. purchased beans there. used bag for 10 days then gave the beans to the residents for food. i do carry one filled in my car for places that will not let you use a tripod.
