I pulled into Dunkin Donuts got out of my car, and down the street was a cat chasing something. I got my camera from the trunk, Olympus E5 with 70-300mm f4-5.6 lens.
Aimed my camera at the cat kneeling and clicked away. Lens was set at 300mm = 600mm on full frame format. Set aperture priority at f5.6. Shutter speed varied slightly with early morning light. About five minute shoot.
Made some interesting stoppers, neat picture story. CIAO, AP

Tremendously entertaining, for the cat and ourselves. Cardio workout for the wee one.

Great series. My cat plays with his food too. I feel sorry for the chipmunk.

According to the description on the last photo, he did get away. Unless it was only temporary get away.
What a wonderful series!!! As the owner of nine indoor-outdoor felines who bring rodents home dead, I'd love to get shots of them hunting.

We had a cat that would catch mice on the hill behind our house. It would bring the mouse into the back yard, still alive, to play with it before biting its head off. Trouble was, a lot of the time the mouse would get away and run into the house. Stupid cat.

Topcat, the Chipmunk did get away. Hope the little guy didn't have a heart attack trying to run from the cat hunter. THANKS TOPCAT!

Ed, it's amazing how a house cat can have that hunter observation like the big cats in the jungle. I love hearing such stories as yours. THANKS Ed ! AP

Thank You, melequus! I have to say, it was a fun shoot for me to arrive at that exact moment. I was in the right place at the right time, and when I downloaded these images to Aperture I was impressed with many smiles.
Photography can be very rewarding for all of us to capture! AP
