Hello UHHs,
I have Lightroom 5 and CS6 but I am struggling when it comes to post-processing my digital photos.
Which book/video should I turn to or purchase to help me learn and master Lightroom and Photoshop?
Your replies and advice are most appreciated.
Thank you.

"You can't eat the elephant all at once."

Pick some project specific techniques and focus on what you need. Add techniques as you need them. Both programs are so full of tools, you're not likely to learn them all.

So, once I decided my goals, I solved the learning challenge by signing on to lynda.com for a couple months. Take a few courses instead of watching cable tv at night.

I don't learn as quickly from books as I do video tutorials, but if I had to choose books alone it would be Kelby's.

Everyone learns differently so there will be many answers.

Thank you for the quick response, bsprague.
What about videos from Laura Shoe and Victoria Brampton (Lightroom Queen)?
Could someone share their experiences about them, please?
Thank you.

Both programs are too complicated for a single video. I would start with an excellent set of videos on Lightroom at Adobe TV: http://tv.adobe.com/show/getting-started-with-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-5
;)

I agree , baby steps will keep you from getting frustrated and quit learning . Youtube has a lot of free videos that can show you how to do what your asking too. I agree with others , just watch videos on the thing you are trying to do on your photo at that time . And don't be afraid to try it on different photos too , you may have to learn a few more things to be able to master it in all different situations . In the end , you will be glad you learned it . 12yrs + and I am still finding things I want to learn either how to do , or to do easier and faster .Tommy

I don't know about Laura Shoe, but Victoria Brampton, Martin Evening, and Scott Kelby all have excellent publications. If you lean towards videos, I suggest to consider Julianne Kost's (Adobe) free tutorials. She is quite good IMO.

Can't help you with photoshop. For Lightroom try videos on Utube by Anthony Morganti. He has a little of 40 of them, most are pretty good. There is also Adobe training videos you can try. BTW, all of these are free.

I prefer the book, its easier to go book to monitor with out flipping back and forth between screens with video/program. If it is a simple process, 1 to 3 steps, then videos.
