Cheers Jim, we don't have any magpies here that I've seen; but we do have grackles and various types of black birds. They are pretty also but the colors on your magpies win out in that competition. Great shots Jim, I really enjoyed them. :thumbup: :thumbup:

Excellent shots. I know that getting the correct exposure on these birds is very difficult.

Nicely composed and very interesting bird! Permit me to suggest that these photos are 'under' exposed with total loss of detail in the blacks/shadows. I tried to recover in LR with no luck unfortunately. Another stop or two of exposure would've allowed you to open up the blacks on the bird to show what I'm sure is interesting feather detail that is missing.
