Beautiful shots of beautiful animals. Would you share your PP steps?

The black background looks too cold, artificial, and unrealistic. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but it seems that way to me. The latest issue of N Photo magazine (Nikon magazine) has a section about equine photography. They got beautiful, natural backgrounds. Take a look at it at your local Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million store.

Hi Kellie...so nice to see your work on here again! I know that it's hard to find a background at a show that's not busy...so the black background is a great idea! However I think I would go with the original in the first one...the background is blurred and not too busy...and the color of the horse looks more natural. Thanks for sharing these with us...I always enjoy your work and like to know how you're doing

Black backgrounds help simplify an image if the natural background is harsh or distracting, especially if (or because) your lens does not have good bokeh. Black also give a more formal portrait quality to an image too. In the case of this series the black background images are superior.

I rarely get into arguments but I think it's time to just say, "Follow your dreams!"
If I listened to critics, I probably would have given up by now.
What's important is if you like it. If so, work to perfect it as best you can and please yourself first and others will follow.
