Hello all. My camera club theme for December critique night is Tranquility. I am considering this one. Would appreciate any critique from fellow Hogs.
Thanks, Jack
you need to lighten the left bottom to the middle of the orange trees on the left. If you shot in raw you might be able to recover that. also the tops of the trees are lit up by the sun and should be more consistent use a circular polarizer to handle that fits on your lens and rotates so you can adjust the exposure

To me it is a great photo nice and peaceful. Goes well with your theme.
I did shoot in raw. Thanks for the suggestions.
Jack
yes it does but the photo is under exposed on the left. In a competition you will get killed. Look at any landscape photo from a pro or guys on the site that are accomplished. You will never see that. Its your pic you wanted a critique, thats whats wrong with the pic even though it is tranquil

It's ok but blah.
The light is anything but dramatic.
I'd scout a place at sunset, blue hour, sunrise or something like that.
Quite frankly, I just wonder how many thousands of photos I've seen just like yours...
I totally agree with the poster above me... (Mr PugMan)
Wooops... Spastic finger & did a double....
In addition to considering the other comments, I'd try to process the sky and get more 'drama' out of the clouds.
Aw comeon.......... Take another one !!!!!!!!!!
You can do better....

I've never really pushed much further than beginner, but can see what other commentators are referring to. However I can see some detail in the lower left. The bush growth is darker than that on the right, and a few silvery streaks can be seen on the water surface just breaking the dark water there.
If it's a morning shot I'd have liked to have got there a little earlier and maybe got a better reflection but that's about all for me.
The final judgement is yours. If you like it go with it.
Well it seems I was on target with my comments. Just keep practicing. go there again if you can and shoot with a longer shutter speed to lighten it up. just make sure you get your light adjustment correct. Take different f stops and well as shutter speeds. Who knows you might have to HDR 2 or 3 photos
