Slavery in Obama's homeland

I found this when I was looking into slavery.

"Slavery in contemporary Africa"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_contemporary_Africa

I wonder why no one in the Obama administration is doing anything about it. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson say nothing about it. If they made as much noise about that as they do about a thug getting killed here I think things would happen.

Among many things Americans and the rest of the world seem to forget is that America is not the only country who has ever had the infamy of enslaving other human beings. It happened in many other countries as well and as you point out is STILL happening today. Of course it isn't even mentioned.

Another item is that Africans themselves, during America's days of slavery, enslaved their own people and kept slaves for themselves. Let's remember that the slaves did not swim here from Africa to be slaves but in a better country. They were captured by their own countrymen and then were shipped here.

One other piece of information that escapes many in the world is that one of the wealthiest slave owners in America was a BLACK man. Yup, he enslaved his own people.

Ah, and interesting question indeed. I think it just simply doesn't fit Sharpton, Jackson, Holder and obama's racist agenda. These four racists have set back race relations decades during obama's imperial reign. It will probably take untold years to repair the damage these reprobates have done, not only in understanding and accepting diversity in the black/white cultures, but the overall damage they have done to the country. This is indeed sad, because I'm not sure we can recover after eight years of obama and his absurd policies.

Thanks for the information. I did not know that.
I found this article on him.

Have you seen the PBS series on Finding our roots?

Prof. Gates did a 5 or 6 part series, in 1980 on slavery, and said he wanted to prove how it was all the white mans fault.

That was his mission statement in part 1.

But when he got to the last part, he was very upset and angry that it was African and Arab slave traders who sold the slaves

Then his final statement was his shock that, within Africa, it still went on today.

Slavery Of Africans, by Africans and to Africans.

And as we see even today, both African and Arab ( yes Muslims ) practice slavery but not as open as it used to be.

You are right. And yet, where is the outrage and condemnation by black people, by everyone from our Black president down to the poorest White person in America and the world?

Wouldn't one think Barack Hussein Obama, the most powerful leader of the free world, with total support from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Attorney General, Eric Holder would be at the United Nations on a regular basis speaking about the horrors of one group enslaving another. Oddly enough I have never heard of any of those people saying one word against modern slavery. Has anyone?

I think it comes down to this. If you're white, you're evil.

And since they couldn't convince enough people, Jesse forms the Rainbow Coalition. That includes anyone tat isn't white.
Latinos, Eskimos, Blacks, American Indians and of course all the North Eastern liberals who go to Miami to get a really dark tan.

You are right on the money. Their agenda is to "enslave" Black Americans mentally, so they can continue to be "relevant.''
Without playing the race card, they become as useless as "Tits on a Bull." Unfortunately, far too many black americans have fallen victim to this garbage. My biggest fear is that because of this "gang," all of the positive gains made possible by the civil rights movement, have become meaningless. At 73 years of age, I don't think I'll live to see any change for the better!! Those who were an integral part of the movement during the 60's, must be wringing their hands and shaking their heads as they witness the total distruction of all they fought for, thanks to OBUMMER, JESSIE JACKASS, AL CHARLATAN, AND COMPANY!!

Looking at the photo makes me wonder where Sharpton's right hand is and why Holder looks so happy. Maybe they need to get a room.

The democrats have perfected slavery right here in the USA.
Ferguson is actually a slave rebellion for all the wrong reasons.

You are correct. Whitey seems to garner most of the blame for slavery around the world but the ugly truth is that it is not the blame of white people these days nor was it primarily the fault of white people in the 1600's to 1800's. It was black people who enslaved their brethren and then sold them to traders from other countries. Yet throughout America it seems to be only white people who get all of the infamous credit for slavery to this day.

I am personally getting tired of being blamed for something that happened over 150 years ago that neither me nor my family had anything to do with.

You will never be able to redeem yourself from the sin of being white to Negrophiliacs. Such "lovers" are acutely vicious racists and thrive on the myths of their own righteousness and victimhood.

You are right. As long as people groups hate each other there will be troubles in this world.

What would happen if we were all the same people group, say HUMAN.
