Took a drive near Moss Landing to see if there were any birds. In the past few decades I might have half a dozen images of birds. With bird images posted everyday I thought I might join in the fun. Well, only a couple of small brown birds flew over the whole day. The sign in the first image says Boundary Ecological Reserve. I thought there would be a bird there. Nope. Then down to the the swamp in search of birds. Not one to be found. Those big funny looking things sticking out of the water are flood control valves. The last image shows the remains of the old bridge off in the distance. Still no birds.
Reserve boundary, no birds here
No birds down by the railroad tracks
Flood control valves, and still no birds.
View of the swamp where white birds usually hang out.
Old falling down bridge where birds should be roosting.

Sorry there were no birds but I like the photo of the Akita.

Interesting set even without any birds.
Is something happening there that you don't know about? Seems strange that you wouldn't see any in an area like that.
good photos

Monster Child thanks you! Now her head will swell, and become impossible to live with.

I think they all went inland because of the Pacific storm that was all set to dump a small amount of rain over the area.

Went back today, and did see a few very small birds a long ways off in the distance. I would need a nice long lens just to see what they were. Hint to wife: need new lens.
