I'm going to London in March and want to take my camera. It is a Digital SLR Nikon D3100. I was told some electronics cannot be passed through the x-ray machines. I looked online but couldn't find much. Anyone know if my camera will make it?
-Thanks:)

Dear Misty,
Who told you that? 'Cause I've never heard it, at least with respect to cameras. And writing about photography is what I do for a living.

I travel for work and have never had an issue going through security with my camera gear. It's never checked in. Always carry on.

I've traveled several times to Europe and Central America and never had trouble with electronics of digital cameras, e books, lap tops, etc. X-ray was (potentially) more of an issue with film in the past when the type of technology could differ depending on where you were traveling. Never heard of this concern.
I think you were told about "film", not cameras. There will be no problem with your gear going through the X-ray scanners.
There's no problem with film either. You normally need a LOT of exposures of VERY fast film before you can detect anything with carry-on scanners: I've put Delta 3200 through 5 scans (London, Goa, Bombay, Goa again, Bahrain) without problems, and this reflects all the reliable research I've read on the subject. Checked baggage scanners are another matter, but then, you wouldn't want your camera stolen anyway.
Cheers,
R.
My stuff goes thru scans all the time......still works fine.

I've never had any problems. Travel all the time. As has already been said it's counts as a carry on.
The only tip I could tell you is always take two carry on's. One with your photography gears the other with a at least two changes of clothes, in case your luggage get's lost.

Signs on display as of 2 weeks ago at TSA entrance says their machines 'might' affect ISO 800 or faster film.
Pay my way and I will carry your camera equipment for you.

This is what I'm always been told, 800 or faster. I always had my infrared film checked by hand, never x-ray. There's a fun afternoon, 2 years after 911 try telling a screener he/she can't open that film cannister.
If you think about it, your gear has been through several x-rays before you even got it. On the way into the country, then shipped to the store you bought it from, then when shipped to you from the store.

There are virtually unlimited photo ops in London. You might want to look through travel guides to see good shots so you have something to work towrd when you get there. When I first went to London in '74, I was determined to imitate this shot of Boudica by Big Ben. Be aware that an English court has ruled against a photographer who imitated the photo of a pro. The imitated shot was for commercial use, though, so you'll have nothing to worry about. (I did not take the photo below.)
Every time I come back from a trip and look at the photos I've taken, I'm always disappointed that I didn't take more.
So, take more!
I flew to Alaska and Florida this year and the camera goes through with no problem. Not only that but on my flights, the camera bag does not count as a carry-on.
