I see B&H is offering significant savings on various lenses if I buy a camera. For example, if I buy a D810, I get $400 off on a 70-200mm f/4 lens.
Does anyone know if this is a routine seasonal sale? If the sale is likely to get better as Xmas gets closer? If it is just B&H, or if it is a Nikon offer available at other retailers?

To my knowledge, it is a Nikon sale available at all authorized retailers. It is typical of most major brands to offer something like this around the holidays. In this case, the prices are available only with a body, which has been the norm lately. I first heard about this on Nikonrumors.com.

For the last couple of years Nikon has offered lens only rebates around March. However the rebate offer does not cover all lenses. As to whether they will have it this coming March, and the lens your looking for is included, is a crap shoot. If your looking at buying a body at this time, these are pretty good deals.
I just purchased from B&H the D810 & the 70-200 f2.8 VRII.
This lens was not included in the last lens only rebate. I was planning on getting it, even if I had to pay the full price, so I'm looking at this purchase as if nothing else $400 off the D810.
It's impossible to choose the right time to buy and get the best deal.

There's no way to anticipate what sales are coming in the future as the holiday's get closer. B&H is a reputable dealer, It's not uncommon to see sales from other dealer's this time of year.

Looks like it may only be available at B&H. Nikon Rumors takes you right to the B&H site. Just for the heck of it, I checked Adorama, Cameta, and Amazon, and found no such deal.
Nikon Rumors is where I found it.

Adorama has the sale also, offering basicly the same freebies maybe different brands of the freebies.

We are talking about the discount on lenses with the purchase of a body, not the freebies you get with the camera. Not available at Adorama.
