I upgraded my iMac to Yosemite without a problem. If you have some concerns, go onto the Apple website support for MacBook Pro and see if there are any issues related to a Yosemite upgrade listed.

I upgraded my Macbook Pro to yosemite 2 weeks ago without a glitch. I had to upgrade several apps to bring them inline with the newer software and that went seamlessly as well. It has been working fine ever since.

I am glad to see these positive comments because if you go to the Apple Support website and others you will see a lot of people who have had problems. I always think these are slanted to the negative as people who do not have problems do not post. I have held off, though, for a while.

Upgraded new iMac 2 weeks ago with zero problems. Like you I also have an older iMac, 2008, and will not upgrade that one.

I do have a new 27 inch iMac, had it for several months, have upgraded the RAM. Which Mac did you get, did you get one with the new Retina Screen or something similar to mine, pic attached, thanks.

I have upgraded my iMac, early 2009 with 4 gb ram, a MacBook Pro 13", and a MacBook Air 13" with no problems except having to upgrade a couple of applications including two Apple applications. Go for it!

Thanks guys, I am always a 'wait and see' guy early on and read about a bunch of issues with it, again, think the only folks, or the majority only complain with problems, and, probably a lot of them are operator error. :)

"Wait and See" is over now.
"Go and Do".

You won't regret it. Mine updated without a hitch

Actually, with Yosemite on my MacBook, Windows 8.1 runs faster than ever!
