How about that Patek Phillipe watch that sold for 24.4 million?
I'm not the least bit surprised. If it were JUST another Hasselblad, then yes, most would consider that price a bit outrageous. But that camera has significant and unique historical value. To a collector or photography historian, that price may have been considered a steal!
Bah, Nikon sells a 'special edition' nikon DF for almost 48k.
When it comes to objects tied to an historic event like this one, as Jim points out there is no real limit but the depth of one pocket and the 'need' to own something unique.
By the way, try to purchase the newer Hasselblad and see the same $$$ go away.. 250mb back, camera body and lenses appropriate for this gear and... Well, this is not even an historic artifact!!!

Yes, I noticed. Digital Hasselblads are VERY expensive. These days I see old used film 500C/M bodies for under $300. My point in the title was to get people to read the article. But still they moved it to the mundane link section.

UHH admin does not make any difference.
A conversation started with a link goes to link.
A conversation started with an image goes to gallery.
My solution is simple, I ask the admin do delete the topic. I did that recently when I tried to start a topic over the meaning (unintentional in my case) of some image capture.
I believe the admin is making mistakes in some cases and kills debates that could benefit everyone. Schools, colleges, universities usually give a reading in order to start a discussion or lesson.
His board, his call. Since he deletes what I asked him to because I disagree with his decision I am frustrated but not upset.

Did you see that on Quickr? That's an Indian company and it was 48,000 rupies.
