I know that gull pics are so common, but I took this one for a reason. There were hundreds of gulls at the beach, but this one stood out like a neon sign, with its unusually bright legs & beak. All the others had the usual coloring in their legs, but this one looked like its legs had been sprayed with fluoro paint. I have never seen this before. Downloading is recommended.

And I think it's doing a bit of high stepping to show off those legs. This is probably part of it's breeding appearance, Earl, but I don't know. Beautiful shot though and beautiful bird.

I believe this is a silver gull, if the photo was shot in Australia. If in New Zealand, I would lean toward red-billed gull. :) The red-billed used to be considered a subspecies of the silver, but has now been separated. Lovely photo.

Hi Earl, love your shot - he's a high stepper alright. The leg colour is not all that unusual though. We see a lot of them down here with that colour leg. Hope you don't mind but I've posted two to show you. Don't mean to be rude and break the rules.

I love a gull that has her own style and stands out in crowd. I think I need a pair of her socks, matches my dress. Glad you caught her struttin' her stuff!
