Advertising Take-over.

I may give the UHH site a miss for a few days. It seems to have been taken over by Pop-Up Advertising just lately. Many are like a snowball, one running into another just trying one to try out their special offer (Not Free ...Whatever 'free' tag they put on it). The first few minutes of being on UHH, they come thick and fast. Often there is no cancel / Remove Cross, top right of screen, and it is a tiresome shutting-down procedure to get rid of them.......... Till the next time.. I have anti-Malware installed, but these pop-ups are slipping through the net...Bad vibes UHH !!!

You might take a look at adblockplus.org. It is free and I have found it stops almost all ads and pop-ups.

I agree, it worked for me. No pop-ups on any site.

Pablo,
Where have you been surfing anyway? Well it doesn't matter, but here's what I do weekly and it seems to have been working since I get no pop-ups or ads for stuff unless I allow the cookies to remain.

Weekly regiment:
Malwarebytes This program rids 99% of pop-ups
SuperAntiSpyware This program rids the machine of cookies
CCleaner This is an insurance policy to rid or pop-up ads
HitmanPro An antivirus and scanner program that cleans up everything (not free though)
AVG 2014 Another antivirus and scanner program that update regularly.

The first 3 programs listed have free versions but you'll need to update the description library manually before scanning your system. I also use FIREFOX as a front end for my search engine as an added precaution.
I got rid of the McAfee and Norton programs since they just seem to bloat up a system.
I see you reside in UK but most of these pop-up ads are related to cookies embedded somewhere in your system. Cleaning up the registry and removing the cookies usually does the trick. If not, you can always revert your system back to a date previous to when this harassment all started but that's exceedingly time consuming.
Hope this helps.
AND STOP GOING TO PORN SITES.
Nothing in this world is truly FREE except DEATH & TAXES.

I'm on the bandwagon for adblock. Seems easier than what singleviking does, although if it works for him/her...

I used an old laptop and made an internet machine out of it. No more adware, malware, viruses, and eliminated about 95 percent of the popups. Installed linux. Much faster than windows and very few problems. It does not stop paid for advertising on any site - what you see on UHH. Excellent internet machine. Have a GREAT DAY!

I have just come onto UHH hovered the cursor over 'Watched Topics.. and PCKeeper Advert came on the screen...This was removed by the cross top right.. and as soon as the cursor moved again...PCKeeper popped up again... Adblock is installed also CC Cleaner...Regservo...AntiMalware..Will perhaps try one of those others suggested by Singleviking...but Porn sites hold NO interest for me.

Did it come up within the thread or as a pop-up making your page unreadable without removing it? If it's within the thread, and between entries on the UHH page, this could be ads relating your most recent UHH interest. They are not detrimental and can just be scrolled over while reading the thread..

PCKeeper completely fills the screen, and has taken over three times before I could gain access to write this message. Java Plug-in is also popping up. I had trouble with that one before, and it cost me £90. 00 to remove it. Regservo did it, but as an 'Extra' to their regular service. I think some of these companies are 'Hand-in Glove' with each other.

Sounds to me like you have some pirate program installed that needs to be removed. "RESTORE" you system to a date previous to when this problem began. Then re-install all of the anti-spam, anti-virus, anti-advertising programs.
I know this is a chore, but you either plugged in a USB device that had this trojan embedded on it or you got it from opening up some email or website and it was a hidden file. The only way to truly remove this kind of crap is to do a complete restore sometimes. Just be sure to save all your critical files on a backup drive. Many of these troublesome popup programs can be found, isolated and deleted by a full system scan by CCleaner, MalwareBytes and HitmanPro but you may have some new method installed and a complete "RESTORE" may be needed if it's embedded in your browser.

Once it's removed, generate a new restore point that clean.
