Enjoy. My wife grew up in Monterey, CA & we lived there from 1992-2004. Enjoyed going out to the road side stand at Pezzini Farms to buy them fresh. They take a long time to cook but, the results are delicious.
Had one for dinner tonight...and it was delicious with the shortribs
Shellback
Loc: North of Cheyenne Bottoms Wetlands - Kansas
We steam them for 45 min's and let them cool - cut them in half (lengthwise - stem to top), drizzle olive oil and sprinkle generous amounts of minced garlic on them and put on the grill with steak or fish and grill until seared lightly (about 5 to 7 min's each side)... Our favorite is with grilled salmon.
I love this picture! I like how everything is black and white except the artichockes. Good job!

MMM! Looks good. Have you ever tried them cooked in sauce similar to spaghetti sauce? Great sprinkled with Parmesian cheese! Interesting shot.
Stuff them with shrimp and crab meat with a lot of olive oil.
