Based on a posting from a UHH comrade a couple of weeks ago we steered our down south trip to Zion National Park this time. Ended up staying almost two weeks. It was 75 degrees each day. Only crowded over the weekend and Veterans day...I guess day trippers from Las Vegas.
Fall comes slowly to Zion canyon.

Ooooh....had to cancel a trip there this year, but MUST go next! Looks like fall is the perfect time. Thanks for jump starting the wanderlust!
I left my wildlife lens at home. Won't do that again. Alas, the wild turkeys once again eluded my camera...but we saw plenty.
Desert Bighorn after the ladies...

Some great horny Mule Deer, too.

A beautiful place and lovely colours too :-)
MtnMan, I have been following your posts for quite a while now and these are the most beautiful photos I've seen you upload to date. You just keep getting better ..... and that's a good thing! It's nice to get inspired by your surroundings.

Thanks. It's hard to go wrong in a place like Zion.
I appreciate the learning I get here from folks like you.
In the past we've steered around Zion to Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, etc. This time we decided to give it a serious go. My wife loved it even more than me. It is now right up there with our favorites like Yellowstone and Death Valley. We already made reservations at the campground for a couple of weeks in April. Spring should be in full bloom then so it will be a different experience. This assumes that the snow melts by then so I get my trailer out of the snow the drift I parked in when we got home yesterday...

I am glad you got to see it. My first impressions were now I know why they called it Zion! Great set of pics and good timing with the light. Rich
