It seems it is easy to become a photographer
Sounds exactly like the work ethic and character of many 20-30 year olds. Pretending rather than contending because, well, it's quicker.
And you can work out a way to take expenses off your income tax, too. Unfortunately, after 3 years you have to show a profit. Not problem, however: 3 years a photographer, vacation a year, and then 3 more years a photographer, and so on...

Oh, c'mon. I'm sick of belly-aching about being a "professional" photographer. If you have talent and love photography, then you are a photographer. If you have no talent and call yourself a photographer you'll soon find out that you're not. Stop whining and shoot great pictures. You should be out there shooting, not sitting here complaining.
it's Sunday morning. Show us your pictures. :)
The other day I visited two parks to shot nature. The first park had one photog doing senior pics. The other park had three photogs doing senior pics. I was amazed at how young all photons were, not more than 25yof. I do not shoot people' but I could do better than what these photogs were doing fpor poses and backgrounds. I do not want my enjoy, went turned into work, so I will not be a pro photog (although all my so-called friends say I should sell my images).

I followed the advice and followed MT Shooter advice on cards, and the customers are still not pouring in! What could I be doing wrong! Do I really have know how to shoot a camera? If that's true, and it entails work and skills, how will I succeed?
Hey that is what I did...hahahaha NOT!

Network and market, network and market. However, I have a portfolio of shots that I have made in similar situations... Real Estate for realtors, Portraits for portrait gigs, etc.. I have a book of photos (not Xerox images but actual prints) of each type and when I go into a meeting with a prospective client I carry the appropriate book. For realtors I carry the Real Estate, Portrait and headshot books because every realtor needs headshots for cards and portraits for what ever. I also provide pamphlet pdfs of properties that the realtor can take to Kinkos, Staples, etc to have printed in color to give out at open houses or put out for prospective clients. Its easy to do, you just have to spend the time to set them up. I even provide the scan code for the realtor to put on their sign so that if a customer scans it with their camera phone it brings up the realtors website at that property or calls the realtors phone.
And a VEST... lotsa pockets and mesh on the chest.
Mine has a big pocket in the back for Dead Ducks.... yeah, sometimes I "shoot" ducks. Fowl! 8-)

Of course! That's why we have over 54,000 members on this forum. :D
Really. 54,000 members.... REALLY!!!
How come every time I log on and check I hardly ever see more than 400 members logged in.... And when I get on, 300 of those are the same members, day after day after day .... ad infinitum.
Let's all post at once.... pick a time... and take a head count?
Step 6 - Buy a pack of business card stock & print your own business cards.
Step 7 - Pester the nice folks at UHH about how to operate your 'professional' DSLR camera - rather than RTFM, and how to make 'professional snapshots' in most any situation.
