Apple is Rich, Rich, Rich.......

Apple is worth more than Russia, Singapore, and Italy. The company is worth over $667 billion. So the question is, do they really have to charge so much for their stuff? Probably not. After all, there is no limit to greed. Or, they could keep their prices the same and move manufacturing from China back to the U. S. A.

Didn't they already start that with making Mac Pro's in Texas last year?

I don't know if they have "started" or if this is a one-shot deal, making the Pro here. Let's see if iPods and iPhones move to the U. S. It would be nice to put millions of dollars into the hands of Americans, rather than the Chinese.

Thats how they got to 660B$. High profit margin, lost manufacturing cost.

The iPhone is already over priced. Making it here would raise the cost to ridiculous.

While that is a valid point they still, as do all the other computer makers, use all the parts that are made in China or the like. What we need is to get manufacturing of necessary parts back to the U.S.....Not just the assembly of the completed units.

There was a study done a few years ago on a news piece where a house was built using only American Made products...from the wood to the plumbing....It showed a very small increase in the price of the materials. So even though it may increase the cost of something a tad bit it will also stimulate the economy because of increased jobs and demands for the products...which would decrease their costs as demand grew...so my answer is, whatever it takes.

I suspect that it is NOT the materials cost that drives the decision, it is the labor costs of manufacturing overseas vs here at home.

Did that news piece take into account foreign labor costs, or was that house built with american labor?

It was built with American Labor via a Company that specializes in Building Strictly American. I know the slave labor overseas is one of the prime issues....And frankly I don't give a crap....what I care about are Americans and Americans having jobs.

I ordered a macbook Pro and fedex delivered it to the wrong address. Apple sent a replacement and when the original finally arrived, Apple told me to keep it. 2 for the price of 1. Now that's how they can share the wealth if you ask me.
