You will remember the cat in the last photo which we all decided was probably the 5th. instar of a Scarce Swallowtail. Well, I have kept 2 in a container with some of the fruit tree leaves they were on and according to the web it looks like they are well on track for their development.
Focus is better on the second because on a better plane.
I have cleaned out their frass, added some fresh leaves & a splash of water. Now I await their progress. Is there anything else I should do?
I am glad I did this because the others on the tree have wandered off or been eaten or got lost in the rain.

Nice focus on the second shot. Third picture really puts things in perspective.
