Today for the first time, I used my Yognuo 560 III off camera with two NF603N triggers, to add light where I wanted it, and avoid frightening insects and bashing into foliage.
All I need now is a third hand with a longer arm and the ability to multitask.
I found holding the weight of the camera in one hand a bit tiring after a while and difficult to keep steady but I think practice will sort that out.
Also needed is care with distance from subject, I had the habit of being too close and overexposing. But here are 3 of the results.

I found some more Saw fly larvae on roses

An update on my now amber coloured sap. Not so pretty now it is darker.

Looks like significant cropping involved. Beware of pixelation (obvious on download & enlargement).

Yes, too far cropped, but taken at 1:1 mag. I cropped-out the OoF parts. I could try isolating some pollen sprigs on a plain sepal background. Thanks Douglass, more practice tomorrow.

Thanks Douglass, the bias was accidental a relic from another day.
Wow Brenda! It seems like every post you do, you have made progress :-) I think you nailed the Sawfly

I concur, Sawfly shot is very well done.
Thanks to you all for the nice encouraging comments.
Wow, Brenda, cropped or not, that Hibiscus pollen is beautiful. Nice work... all of it.
