D7100 Live View Still Shot Aperture

When I shoot with a tripod, I use the cap to cover the viewfinder to prevent light from entering and use the display screen for Live View. One thing I noticed is that when I shoot with low f stop (like f/16) indoors with ISO set to 100 and adjust the time to get the proper exposure, I can see everything in the display just fine for the first shot. After the shot, the aperture seems to stay in the f/16 state and the Live View becomes very dark. The only way to get the aperture to reset is to set the dial to Auto or f stop to the minimum, leave Live View and then re-engage Live View. Then I can see the image again.

Has anyone else experience this? Is there an easier way to get the aperture to default to the minimum during Live View after every shot?

You are involved with some kind of "different" shooting. What are you shooting that requires f/16 indoors? While you think about that, when this happens again and you can not see anything in the viewfinder, watch as you turn your aperture selector to f/12, then f/8, etc. What happens? Why does that happen? Now you can use this to keep going. Have fun. GL

f/16 indoors? Mostly to have the greatest DOF. When I change the aperture selector, nothing happens.
