This mosquito was a lot bigger than we normally find in the house and I don't like Drain Flies even though they are quite pretty.

Both situated near the ceiling making flat plane impossible.

NOT cropped, now in heaven minus my blood.

Thanks Erv, the trouble with shooting mosquitoes is that they are skittish and they are not something you want to lose before you've killed it. This one was high up on a wardrobe and I got the ladder out and climbed up thinking it was a spider as it was so big. If I had known it was a mozzie I would have swatted it and not got the shot. Good luck.

Thanks but it will be a long time before I even begin to approach your quality of shooting.

Thanks Bob and Tom. I find these hard to kill as well. Mosquito spray doesn't seem to touch them but a club hammer does the trick.

Big thumbs up on the drain fly. I've been wanting to shoot one of these but haven't found any to date. Intricate details on these is very intriguing.

Brenda, these are awesome shots. I can see a lot of improvement in your photos especially with lighting and sharpness. Very well done, indeed. I have never heard of a drain fly and don't recognize it as anything I have seen.
