Beautiful and cute Oriental Whip Snake (Ahaetulla prasina) I found one rainy afternoon. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

That's where I found this cutie

White-spotted Cat Snake (Boiga drapiezii), again. Seems to be the most common Boiga? Malaysia.

Big, beautiful eyes....just like those of cats, thus the name - Cat Snake.

Male Wagler's Pit Viper (Tropidolaemus wagleri). Selangor, Malaysia.

Record shot of a Sunbeam Snake (Xenopeltis unicolor). Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Yeah, it got away.

These are not really macro. I'll remove them if requested.

Find me.

I have to tell you up front that I hate snakes. They startle the bejeepers out of me. I appreciate you telling us up front that there are photos of snakes coming up.

Having said I don't like snakes I find your photos very good indeed. I love the colors, composition, detail and sharpness. A well done to you.

Dennis

Very interesting subjects, well executed.
The first two snakes appear to be quite small diameter, so I believe that you have posted macros of these two.

Whip snake is wicked. All nicely captured, guessing the last two contain snakes. Fairly certain on the first shot. Second shot I believe I see one but then again I think I see a walking stick too ;-)

Thanks, Dennis. Snakes are really not as scary as we think. They are seriously misunderstood, misrepresented, and mistreated. I used to be really terrified of snakes too but fortunately, thanks for nature photography, I have overcome a good part of that fear. I was able to handle the whip snake, as in holding it in my hands.

While I believe you know all of that I am not so sure about me. I have held them too but didn't like it a bit. I fully admit snakes are not slimy, dangerous except for poisonous snakes, make good pets etc. they are just not for me. I am better about not killing harmless snakes but I still kill every rattlesnake I see. I know others will say that is bad of me but that is me.

Awesome shots! Love snakes and love your photos. Had hoped to get a simple shot around my house this summer, didn't see the first one. Those headshots are amazing.
