I've been loving photography for a long time, and most particularly for the past 6 years when my first grandson was born. I fancy myself as being "decent" at it and I read, watch instructional videos and keep an eye out for great spots to shoot at all the time. I've photographed some friends for fun, but mostly use my own family. The grandkids know the camera is part of my arm and occasionally perform on cue. I love editing - sometimes I'm sure I edit too much. This is one of my favorite creations at the moment.

Me too. Have a home there, but stay in our place in Murphy, NC most of the time. Taught at the Dental School there for 25 years.

Hi there and welcome. I'm new here too, just joined a few days ago. Also, live here in Alabama, closer to Columbus, MS, where we do most of our shopping. Glad to see that Hobby Lobby has opened again; haven't been yet, but planning a trip there soon. Take care and happy photographing!

I love Birmingham, been here a very long time. A ton of my family live in Tuscaloosa, but I don't know of any workshops there. I did recently take a 2 hour on site camera course offered by Chimpsy. Chimpsy contracts people out in various locations to teach the courses. You might check them out. Unfortunately, the Hobby Lobbys are all 20+ minutes from my house, but I do love them! We have Michael's, but it can't come close to Hobby Lobby.
