Resolution & Image size when Preparing to print.

When preparing an image for printing in Photoshop would this be the way you would select resolution and printing size?
In the Image Size dialog box:-
Uncheck Resample Image.
Increase Resolution (to 360ppi If using Epson Printer because it is the resolution that evenly divides into an Epson printers resolution).
Recheck Resample Image and type in Width or height size you wish to print, (In my case this is usually as big as possible to fill the size of paper used).
or
would you leave this last stage to change Width or height for the Print dialog box and simply check the Scale to Fit Media box, (if you wished to print as large as possible on the chosen paper size)?
I would be very grateful for your comments.

I would do both. First, resize the picture to 360, then in the print dialogue, select to fit the media you are using.

I like to do all resizing in Photoshop, then sharpen or remove artifacts (zoom to 300%) as necessary before printing.

Sometimes. Usually, I first leave it checked, up sample, and see if a crop to right print dimensions works. Usually use "automatic." Bottom line is my eye: try different stuff til it looks right.

No, I don't. But it could be that I'm not fluent enough in these aspects of Photoshop. I've had good luck leaving the three boxes checked.

Thank you both for your replies. The reason I asked the question was because of conflicting and unclear information I have read on the subject. I might put the same question on the Post-Processing section and see what ideas might result.
