around here, folks predict the coming season by looking at signs from nature. According to this woolly worm's coat it looks like it's gonna be a mild winter.

What does it signify if you find one that is mostly black. There was one in my garden yesterday that was just the opposite of your shot.

I thought black signified colder and more severe, so, according to your worm it will be worst at the beginning and end of winter. But if that's Middle Tennessee, it might be different up here in Indiana.
