Recently batteries for flashes was discussed and I cannot remember which batteries were considered the best. All I remember was alkaline was at the bottom of the list. Can someone enlighten me?
You may see them under the brand names Sanyo or Panasonic. Batteries Plus carries them as do several other stores.

Panasonic generation 4 Eneloop.
I was just in Costco yesterday and they have Sanyo eneloops(2000mah). Their package gives you 8AA and 4aaa with a charger for them for just under$20. It says on the package that the batteries can be recharged 1800 times and they will hold their charge more than 70% for 5 years(when not being used of course). I have been using them for many years and concur with these claims.
