Thank you for your nice comments! The flower is a camellia, I think. I took it a couple decades ago, at a nursery (after I got my first "good" camera, a Fujica, I hung out at nurseries, hours at a time, where they let me take pictures of the flowers). This is my first day at the forum...it's been interesting and I'm glad I joined.
