Bald Eagles and fall foliage: a couple days later (5)
A couple days after I went "
leaf peeping and looking for bald eagles" at a
county park in the mountains, I went again to do the same. (I usually go every second day.)
When I arrived,
fishermen were there and said the eagle had just caught a fish and flew into the trees. I couldn't see it, but I spotted its mate in a tree on the other side of the lake. I went over there to see if I could get some pics.
After parking near the beach where the latest fish stocking took place, I walked to the lake shore and was within 40-yds. of the perched eagle. After a while, its mate joined him in an adjacent tree. I watched as the birds preened, shooting pics the whole time. Both birds flew out over the lake and soared. Soon they were both diving down to the surface to catch fish. Too far for me to capture the action.
It was a great day for picture taking! These are some of what I got. I hope you enjoy them. Comments welcome.

PS: A week before I went leaf peeping in NE PA, the PA Fish Commission had stocked lakes in county parks with trout in preparation for the upcoming fall trout fishing season. Watch the video
here to see it being done and how it looks at the places I took autumn foliage pics in my posts.

Great pictures gene! Sounds like you had a real adventure. At what lake did you get these great eagle shots?
