I believe this is Synema globosum which does come in different background colours. Please correct me if I have the wrong ID. I used different lighting on the first.

I cannot vouch for ID, but I do believe that you have lost noticeable spider detail due to over-exposure of these images.

Yes I agree Douglass, I should have taken more time - just excited and surprised to find a crab spider on my bedside table. I had just changed my lens to go birding and packed it up when the spider turned up and I had to do a quick lens change back to macro. I think it came in with the washing from the line which is too close to some fruit trees.

Thanks a lot but I can see I have to concentrate more on my lighting, especially for subjects on a light background - keep getting that wrong in my hurry to get the shot. I love the photos you post.

What Douglass said about the lighting but I do like the first one. Nice photo of the eyes and I like the sharpness.

:) . i have found a jumper this morning and lowered my speedlight output to improve exposure hopefully. I will post some later. It seems jumpers in the same families have various dorsal patterns - this makes it easier to name them, Harry, Jimmy, Susie etc.... ;-)

This crab spider DOES display the distinctive dorsal pattern of a Synema globosum: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synema_globosum
General abdominal colors can vary.
