Waiting for the train

Took a hike down some old railroad tracks to visit a bridge I've seen before. It's been awhile since it's seen any trafic,as you can tell. I first thought about going half way across then decided that the risk was to high and I was to far from help if I needed it.

Nice subject. Why not level? I'd walk the plank....nothing ventured, nothing gained

Thanks I hadn't noticed the tilt . I corrected it on my original. The wood all around this bridge is punky and it's a good 40min walk (for me) to get back to civilization. At 65 and a bad knee I felt the need to go out on the bridge just wasn't in my best interest. I'm thinking of going back with my 4x5 but I'm not going alone, I'll take my mule next time. (my son) if he's in the mood.

I hunted back here years ago when dragging a deer out didn't seem that big of a chore. I sure wouldn't want to try it now. Back then there were beaver around this bridge;now I'd be shocked if there were fish in the water.

Have no fear, no train will venture out on these bridges without any rails to ride upon.
Good shot, I like the composition. The tilt of the bridge give one the impression of age and neglect.

Discretion being the better part of valor, I agree with your decision not to cross alone. You still got an excellent photo.

Thanks for sharing.
