Nikon is offering 10% of refurbished items. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens is $629.96.
Does anyone have experience with this lens? I'm looking for a wide-angle DX for my D7100.
Yes I have this lens and use it frequently on my D7100...love the combo and would highly recommend this lens. Use this lens mostly for landscape or cityscape and group family photos. You will not be sorry for getting this lens and Nikon refurb is a great bargain.
I use mine a lot. If you are unfamiliar with ultra wide the key is to use it by getting close to the subject. Snuggle up to walls. Get a few inches off the ground or just above the surface of lakes and ponds etc. Experiment. Ultra wides need you do things a little different -- if you just stand in the usual place and click away you may gind results boring

Sure do Fred.
I got one from Nikon a few months back. It was my second lens purchase for my now burgeoning box of gear.
Very nice for near fish eye to 24mm wide angle photography.
In fact, at a recent nieces wedding, another niece was shooting with a borrowed Canon and its lens, so I shot with my Nikkor 10-24mm.
I really like it for wide angle photography. It's my bottom-end lens.
My main reason was to take pictures for our Realtor DIL. But it catches everybody at Family parties.
Here's a few:
Thanks for all your feedback, folks. Sonny, I appreciate your including some sample photos -- that really helps. Everyone is giving this two thumbs up. I guess my GAS will be temporarily quelled...
IT is a quality lens and that is a good price.
If you have a preference for Nikon then this is the one to get for this purpose.
I do not mind off brand lenses and would compare it to the Sigma 10-20 F/4-5.6 before purchasing as that will be cheaper brand new than this refurb Nikon.

If it helps with the sting, mine was $699. + shipping, +tax.
So your deal sounds good to me.
Always happy to help folks expel GAS. Aren't we all glad the Internet hasn't got "Smellivision".
I have had mine for a number of years.it was predominately used with a d7000. I have used it with the d7100 and within the last year bought the 16-35 f4 to be used for an FX camera. Really enjoyed the Lens and got wonderful pics with it in antelope canyon, Zion and especially mesa arch in canyonlands. If you look up the only pics I posted the middle one from big sur is with the 10-24. Great lens for dx. Good luck Rich

Since I asked, I think it only favor to report back that I just now ordered it! $667.76 complete (taxes + free shipping).
Thanks, everyone. I'm really looking forward to this lens!

I was going to suggest B&H Photo where I bought my copy of this lens about 6 months ago but when I just checked just a minute ago their current price for US version is $809. Thus I would not hesitate making purchase from Nikon at price you found. Incidentally, it is a great lens and I enjoy the heck out of shooting with it. Don't pass up the opportunity to get one. Good shooting and good luck.

Enjoy, Fred!
I think you will really like this lens. ;)
It's here!
On a long day of work, I had to stay in during lunch to sign for delivery, but I think it was worth it. Alas, as much as I wanted to go try it out, the only opportunity I had was last night at the running store.
Some observations:
Focusing is going to take some experimentation. The manual says as much, so this isn't a problem with the lens, it's just the nature of its super-wide factor.
Flash is also something to be aware of. The only good results I got were with a full-open aperture. Out of a half-dozen shots I took, this is the only one that didn't vignette (please note: some Lightroom lens correction and upright adjusting applied).
I think I'm going to like this lens. Some consider it one of the "holy trinity" of lenses. Ken Rockwell has a lot of good to say about it.
Stay tuned...
