Has anyone done business with the TheDigitalPros.com? They seem to be cheaper than B&H or any of the other online retailers ...

STAY AWAY!!! BBB gave this company an F.

I had never heard of them. In the time it took you to post this, you could have Googled it and had an answer to your question . That's what i did less than a minute ago. I Googled thedigitalpros.com reviews and virtually every hit contains the word "scam", "rip off" or "fraud".

Thanks ... I'll do more research. They seem too good to be true.

I really wasn't trying to be critical of you, but was just pointing out that you could have gotten a lot of additional feedback more quickly than by just posting a question here. While I'm sure there are probably some satisfied customers, they seem to be the normal run of the mill bait and switch type organization. And even with out knowing any details I have no doubt they are not authorized dealers for many product lines, and therefore you will not get a USA warranty on their most likely imported items. Not sure what products or brands you were looking for, but, as an example, Nikon will not service imports purchased in the US, even if you are willing to pay for it!

The BBB gave these guys an F. If they had any satisfied customers I'm sure they are few and far between. I'll stick with B&H.

Low prices generally indicate something not quite right. As for the BBB, I wouldn't put too much stake in that. I've seen bad companies get good ratings. Members here have said that businesses pay to join it, so if they don't pay, they could get low ratings. And vice versa.

BINGO

Agreed however in this case I can't help but think this outfit has earned the negative reputation.

May be a "re-seller". Look for Grey market and non-factory refurbished cameras and bodies to confirm. Always worth asking a couple of questions. I did ask those questions by e-mail to an outfit called "americacameras". They never responded to my messages or phone calls. I noticed they have raised their price on the lens I called about to within $10 of a new American version that is sold by one of our well known legitimate sellers.

We all know if the price seems too good to be true then it probably is. Lots of these scams only want your credit card number and will give you an "on backorder message" right out of the box. Run!

always check with resellerratings.com unless dealing with adorama, b+h, or KEH.

Absolutely correct - and you pay a lot. The BBB vigorously promote the need to shop only with businesses they 'approve' and they are very lax in their vetting of their 'approved' companies many of which I've personally found to do work of poor quality. These companies are most unlikely to get a poor rating all the time they pay the fees and many have been in business for years with the support of the BBB.
An organisation that is supported by the fees they charge the businesses they are supposed to be vetting is obviously compromised.
It's mostly a protection racket in a new guise.
