This isn't my usual thing and I can take no credit or blame for it because, regrettably, I didn't see it. It turned out to be one of my favorite of many "drive by shootings." My wife was sitting a couple of rows up from me in the bus and suddenly pointed out the window and said, "shoot that!" We were moving fairly slowly through heavy traffic and I had the camera set at a reasonably fast shutter speed "just in case." I swiveled around, took the shot, and never gave it a second thought. This turned out to be the last shot I took on a trip to the Ukraine as we were headed to the airport in Kiev. Since then I've come back to it many times. It has flaws: I wish I had been able to get her face, I would have probably have blurred the kids just a bit more, etc. I'm wondering what you think of the concept.

I think If it were mine I would crop out everything but the Woman.

I'd crop nothing...keep it all and title it:
"The Shallow and Deep Ends of the Humanity Pool"

It's "street" at its best. Don't do a damned thing to it. Pass my congrats to your wife on her amazing quickly perceptive eye!

Leave as is. The her feet would have "finished the picture, but in such a situation you take what you are gifted with.

This is awesome, Windshoppe. I love the juxtapostion of the woman and the teenagers. The woman obviously coming from a completely differnt walk of life than the teenagers in the background. I like that you put your sharp focus on her. I agree with Graham .. if you have the feet .. put them back. :-) But even without .. what a moment you have captured. Nicely done.

Perhaps a little selective burning and dodging to accenuate what is going on? I don't know .. I'd like to hear what Graham says about that.

Your wife has a good eye. I am with the majority don't crop anything.
Other than nipping the feet, I like the composition. You have nice diagonals in the cement walls and a contrast between the elderly lady and the teens. There are some implied angles there also, causing your eye to move between the teens and the lady.

Thank you all for your comments. Wish I had the feet to restore, but didn't get them. My wife doesn't shoot at all, but has often been responsible for keepers. We're happy that the concept had some merit in your views.

So maybe just needs a little cloning to give it more room on the bottom. :-D

How interesting. The majority of the posts say leave it as it is - and they are people who know what they're talking about.
But I don't think the youngsters do anything to the 'story'.
Look at the woman. Romanian? A beggar certainly. She has the organisation to keep her bum warm with a newspaper and the money is stored safely next to her lap.
No one has a posture like that - unless they're begging. Or is that too contraversial.
She's the story.
