Just received my SX60
I decided to upgrade from my SX50. I found the SX50 a great camera for traveling. I have lost many a shot using my EOS cameras while changing lenses and framing. Ive always been satisfied with the SX50 results. The SX60 is a new world. When introduced last month I did a bit of soul searching as the 65x zoom didnt excite me, but the 21mm wide did. I now have the camera and I am extremely pleased with all the new features. Hurricane Ana came close to Oahu this weekend so I havent been able to judge the improvements in images, but based on reports it appears to have a noticeable improvement. The feature I am very impressed with is the Shooting Remotely using my Samsung note 3 Android Smartphone. Very very cool feature. Another feature is the leveling screen.
In January I will be going to the Big island and give the camera a workout.. so far I am happy happy happy!
When you post some photos, please be sure to put sx60 in the title, so we won't overlook - many of us are interested to see and learn more!
I agree with Linda from Maine. I am seriously considering upgrading my Nikon Coolpix SX50HS(wishful thinking) to a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS
If you put your wish to purchase a 50 put it on the buy/sell section and you will get a better response.

I just did upgrade my Nikon Coolpix L610 to (the last unit in Target) the SX 50 HS. So far I've been practicing, but I'm getting excellent results. First camera I've been able to take decent indoor shots with and without flash.
Same here ,just got mine yesterday and also a new Android smart phone so I have a lot of learning to do . It took me all day just learn how to answer the phone and reply? Good tip from you re the remote photography from the phone.I have had the camera for one day and apart from charging up the battery I havent done much with it . One thing I would like to ask you is do you find you need a spare battery?

How's the shutter delay? Is it quick, as in a short amount of time or slow, as in my, I want the picture 1/2 second from right now, Canon G1x?
Enjoy your new camera.

I didn't know that. When I looked on the Canon website for batteries they said sold out.
Is there a good 3rd party battery, or should one only buy Canon?
I prefer WASABI ... Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Charger for Canon NB-10L, CB-2LC and Canon PowerShot G1 X, G15, G16, SX40 HS, SX50 HS, SX60 HS for under $22
I will be watching for any/all pics posted with the SX60HS. It just was posted as the PC Mag Editor's Pic yesterday ... pretty good endorsement for me.
