Thanks to both of you. He was falling up and down the steps and sometimes when he lifted his leg, he'd fall over. I couldn't stand to see him this way, so I had him put down. To this day, I question my actions. Was it too soon? to late? Either way, it sucks. I hope he knows why I did it.
I know exactly how you fell. My first one died of a tumor burst in the stomach and the one in August had to be put down for the same reason you put yours down. She would fall down the steps and at the bottom just lay there with very sad eyes that were asking for help. Like you I felt the same way but the Vet said that there was nothing that could be done and it was the best thing for her. As you I will always wonder....Rich
