What a help this website has been! Your participation and knowledge sharing has been so helpful. Now I have a question. I have a camera body to sell and want to know the safest way to handle it on this website as I sure don't want to get taken. A short while ago someone said he was considering buying the model I have for sale so I sent him a private message and photos of the equipment. The next email I got from him (not a private message) was totally unsolicited porn. I do not care to experience that again and also want to be careful of not getting paid. All advice will be gratefully accepted.

go to keh.com the buy ans sell used eqquipment. they will give you a qoute. also try adorama.com and ucb.com if you sell to a business you run little risk if you sell to an individual you run a higher risk.

Welcome Gr8ful. Happy to have you with us. Having never sold anything on here I do not know a great deal about it. But I have seen some who have talked about going through the site and using it. When I have seen it talked about the parties discussed using paypal. The seller had a sellers paypal account and so then the buyer could go to paypal and pay with their credit card. Once the payment came in and had cleared they sent the item. It seemed to work out well for the couple of times I have seen the parties talking about using it.

As far as people here go you do have to be careful. Most of us are here for the right reasons and things go fine, but there are some who have joined that are only here to solicit. We had someone a few days ago that went around the site posting all kinds of ads for Ralph Lauren Polo. These people are usually banned from the site. So if you keep getting unwanted emails from this person block the emails if you can. I am not sure if the Admin here could do anything since this came to your personal account. If in doubt, listen to Sinatraman and sell to a company and then you don't have to worry about being stung.

What is this becoming the internet my wife was on the computer this weekend and had a weird thing happen and all it was was a virus thank god I know a little about computers I got her cleaned up after about 5 hours. The program was called Internet Security what a laugh so be real carefull and don't Lose the upper hand.

Thank you all for the welcome and the advice. The only time I dealt with Adorama when selling some equipment they quoted me a price then later tried to tell me they would only give me 75% of that quote. That is why I thought trying a new venue might be a good idea.

Might want to try E-Bay set you low price and see what happens, I have a Kodak Digital that I am in the market and like you I think that I will give it to ebay first. It is kind of a way to see if there is any intrest in it and with Pay Pal you will get your money way before they get the camera. Just a Hint;-}
