The post in todays Hedgehog popped up a "Flash drive update". Kaspersky picked it up. As far as I can tell, it is malware or virus propagation pop up.
Dana,
The appearance of the pop-up and the posting you opened could be co-incidental. Just poor timing. It could be a prompt from Kaspersky to update your anti-virus program to include scanning USB drives upon insertion.
Your best option is o research the Kaspersky web site for updates and messages they may have sent through their auto-update tool, or call them Monday morning and talk to tech support.
In Windows using a browser such as IE, if something odd pops up I don't click the X to close it because that can cause it to launch something you don't want. Instead I hit Ctrl Alt Delete to stop the process.
You should also run a scan using the free Malwarebytes scan program.
I had this problem in August. It appeared on IE and Firefox. It is not an Adobe Flash player update, you will notice the word Adobe does not appear on the screen.
I fixed it by resetting IE back to defaults, removed all toolbars and ran Malwarebytes several times.
the problem is usually a malicious application called "Updater". This is difficult to remove but one antimalware program that can remove it (Windows and Mac) is Adwcleaner (free)
