I am going to take my time and want to stop along the way to photograph. Any suggestions? The only place I know that I am going to stop is Longwood Gardens. Any good suggestions for New Jersey, Delaware? Thanks in advance.

I bet if you plan to avoid all tolls on your GPS you will get some great shots

I can do that. I usually drive down in 6-7 hours but this time I plan to take two days.

Just checked out your flickr. Amazing work. I was going to suggest a place called "The Mill at Anselma" in Exton, PA. It's a wonderful place but after looking at your previous work I'm not sure it would be your "thing" (as-it-were), but it might be worth a look if you're not too far from there (Southwest of Philadelphia.).

If I were doing this drive I'd have to include Assateague National Seashore. Beautiful scenery and best of all the incredible wild horses. The acquarium in Baltimore is a fun place to photograph if there's a day you can't get outside.

I live about 5 minutes from Longwood Gardens--I also teach photography there--and you'll love it. Tripods are only allowed inside the Conservatory until noon, but that still gives you 3 hours to shoot.

While you're in the area, you might want to check out Winterthur; it's only about 15 minutes from Longwood. Another thing you might want to consider is the Conowingo Dam. The dam is on the Susquehanna River and is right on Route 1, about 35 minutes south of Longwood. It features a fairly large number of Bald Eagles and enough Turkey Vultures to give you an enduring case of the willies. You drive over the dam, go about 1/8 of a mile, take the first left, drive about 3/4 of a mile, take the first left, and wind your way down the hill to the river's edge. There's a huge parking lot, and there are always a number of photographers there.

From there I'd double back a mile or so, go back across the Susquehanna, take a right, go through Port Deposit, and find your way to Havre de Grace. It's a great little town, and it's within striking distance of Annapolis. Both Havre de Grace and Annapolis are on the Chesapeake, so they both offer great opportunities for shooting. Have a great time.

BTW, I took the Cape May, NJ, to Lewes, Delaware, ferry earlier this week, and it's a yawner. I certainly don't think it warrants missing Longwood Gardens and that entire southeast corner of Pennsylvania.

While in Annapolis, a good restaurant is the Severn Inn. It's right accross the Naval Acadamy Bridge. At Sunset there are spectacular shots of the Naval Academy.

Thank you. My daughter and son-in-law live in Annapolis - have been there quite a few years so I know that area well. We have eaten in the Severn Inn.
