Experience with ios 8 and suggestions for apps for camera settings?
I just update to IOS 8.0.2 and now my phone does not ring, it only vibrates, and no notifications on messages or emails. It was all working before with 8.0.0

Me too. Pain in the neck.
You need to go to Settings and reset everything so it works like it did before you did the so called upgrade.

And there are those who say Apple can do no wrong.

oh and BTW. I get something called Zoom Enabled when I reboot my phone. Anybody getting that?
In answer to the original poster: Try the Camera+ App. I've used it since iOS 4, I think. It is very full-featured, now, and lets you control ISO, shutter speed, focal point, white balance, etc., either manually or automatically. It has image stabilization and cool post-processing tools as well.
I also use and like Hipstamatic, Nightshot, PhotoShop Express, and Snapseed, for various reasons (Nightshot isn't working in iOS 8.0.2). Of course, the tools in Instagram are useful, too, if you want to sign away the rights to your photos by posting them there...
In Itunes, When you click on the Restore My Phone box in the Iphone Summary, what does it restore?
It restores your data from the last previous full backup. If that was on a previous version of iOS, it does not revert the operating system... It keeps the current iOS.
You can also restore from previous backups, if you have any.
I should also mention, you should save copies of your photos, videos, etc. to folders OUTSIDE of the iTunes or iCloud locations. If you use a Macintosh, the Image Capture application that is a part of OS X is great for this.
When you save photos to a folder, then delete those photos from your device, be sure to lock the saved folder and don't add to it later. At some point, your phone will re-use the same range of filename numbers, and saving more photos to an old folder could overwrite your older photos with new ones of the same name.

No. Just go to Settings and change the settings that no longer reflect what you want to happen.
Change only the ones that arent doing what you want them to do.
Figured out the problem. I had the switch set to silent...I never use that and must've filpped it by accident....

When I did the upgrade, it set Privacy settings to "on". There was a crescent moon shape in the icons at the top right. I had to go into privacy settings and turn that off. The moon shape means it only ring/dings during certain hours. It's great if you have a napping baby, or like sleeping with your phone beside you and don't want to get all those "ding" notifications waking you up, but I don't need it. My phone sleeps alone and my baby is 32.
But that mute button on the side is always the first suspect, it is easy to hit by accident.
