Recently someone (I apologize that I can't find it now) posted the following link for a beautiful photo/music video:

http://player.vimeo.com/video/22132017?title=0&byline=0&port

Can anybody tell me what software might have been used to create it?

Almost all video editing software is capable of creating this...
Image, transitions with the music. This is a simple editing.

Since I know virtually nothing about video software, could you give me a name or two?

This is basically a slide show, and Lightroom can do that. ProShow Gold is a good program.

I thank you for responding, Rongnongno, but your recent response, "Here", leading to a google search of video editors, was not particularly helpful. While I have been involved in virtually all aspects of still photography since the early '50s, as I stated I have virtually no video experience.. The reason I posted my question on the hog was that I know there are people here who have vast experience with video who could recommend particular editors to examine. I have neither the time, or frankly interest, to start from scratch in examining all existing video editors. What I am asking is for a narrowing of the search to those that Hoggers have found useful. Specific names to start my search would be much more helpful than a "listing" of the video editor universe.

I bet Windows has a built-in program that can do slideshows. You'll just have to add the music and adjust the timing and fades.

I can't attest to the capabilities of Lightroom but many have used it. My personal preference is ProShow Producer, but that one will cost you @$250.00 (ProShow Gold @$70.00). Windows Movie Maker will make a slide show very similar to the example you provided for free.

Almost any video editing software, such as Pinnacle (Avid now), or even Photoshop Elements is capable of this. It contains simple transitions from one photo to the next. In my opinion what makes this video a 'topper' is the terrific photography and music. I'd be proud to produce a product like it. Proves we don't need a bunch of fancy editing techniques... but the content (photos and music), to make a terrific production.

Hi there,

If you are a beginner start with movie maker...both windows and macs have it...if you are an almost pro go with final cut pro...I forced myself to learn final cut...and that is the best thing I could have done...

I'm a complete beginner, so looks like movie maker to start. Thanks.

When you are ready to take a step up, Premier Elements is a good low cost solution. Elements would allow placing some text over the pics (location etc). Not sure if you can do it with movie maker.

This could have been done in just about any software, I did not see any video in that, but a simple slide show underlayed with music.
