We went sailing for the first time last Saturday on Lake Superior on the schooner Hjordis, a 50 foot boat, out of Grand Marais MN. A pleasant day, nearly 70 degrees, dropping till dusk. Sailed at 6 P.M. into the sunset. We picked the last day the boat sailed. O alas, only a 2 hour cruise: no Gilligan, no MaryAnn, no Professor, just us,Mr & Mrs, (& 2 other couples) and no island. This is what we saw. More to come

Did you catch the sailing bug? At one time I had 5 sailboats at once. Thankfully, I'm down to one that I just love, a 20 footer that sleeps 4 (or 2 adults comfortably)
Looks like a calm day by looking at the luffing telltales on the sail. You should try to go out when it gets really windy, and the boat is heeling over at about 18 degrees (which will feel like it is at 45 degrees. You may not be moving very fast, but it will feel like you are in a Nascar race, and be absolutely hooked. (or not, that's just what happened to me)
